A Father’s Dream- available on 12/15

A Swedish immigrant who will let nothing stop her and a mountain guide who wishes to disappear—but God won’t let either of them go. A story of redemption, healing, and forgiveness on the mighty Columbia River.

My friends, I am so excited to share this story.

Every story that I write has pieces of me woven throughout- experiences I’ve had, lesson I’ve learned, things God has shown me. A Father’s Dream mixes my love of Pacific Northwest History, the beautiful-awful messiness of human relationships, and God’s unending faithfulness with a sprinkle of a love story mixed in.

Stay tuned!

Johanna Amalia Nilsdotter Oman, a young Swedish immigrant, has found herself all alone in America and has come too far to turn back now. Her only option is to make her way across the country and then the two hundred miles up the mighty Columbia River to the settlement of Lyle where her father purchased a homestead with dreams of owning his own sawmill.

John, a man stuck between two worlds, has a plan to walk away from life, to lose himself in the mountains of Washington Territory and never see a soul again. Shame and regret eat at his heart, and he cannot face the pain of his past. His only option? To die alone in those mountains.

But first, as a mountain guide, he’s been hired to lead an immigrant man named Nils Oman into the foothills above the Columbia River. The $20 promise of payment is his ticket out of this life.

But God has a different plan: a plan of redemption, of healing, and a path to love again.
