In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Psalm 5:3 NIV
King David’s words in Psalm 5 remind us how to begin our day. How do you start your day? Is it a mad dash of coffee, bags, and out the door? Is it too much scrolling? How do you feel in the mornings?
King David suggests another way. And his words are a reminder from God of what He wants for us in the mornings and what He wants is what’s best for us.
But some of us are afraid to ask. Does God even care about the weather for my special day? Does God even care about my pain? Or my animals? Or the meeting I have planned? With all that’s going on in the world, does He even care or have time for me?
Don’t put God in a box. Do you believe He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, always good? If you do, then He can see you and He does care. So tell Him what is in your heart. Unload first thing in the morning. 🙏🏼
And “wait expectantly.”
Let me show you something beautiful from the KJV.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Psalm 5:3 KJV
Today, THIS morning, tell God what is on your heart and then, my friends, LOOK UP.
God loves you. He sees you. And He is faithful. ❤️

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
Psalms 92:2
I love that word that’s translated as “lovingkindness.” I think it’s hesed or chesed. It’s a beautiful word of God’s great love for us. Thanks for commenting today. Have a blessed day.
The old translations are more solemn and charming!
Thank you and blessings !!
